Officials from FIM and the organizing committed of the 85th Editions of the ISDE in Morelia Mexico, cancelled the final day of the six days of Enduro competition after safety issues arose. Motorcycling Sports Director - Ignacio Verneda and President of the 2010 ISDE Organizing Committee - Luis Otero made the following statements about their decision. Ignacio Verneda: "This is 100% the correct decision, as in all cases the security and safety of everyone involved with the event is the most important consideration…. Although the risk was only very minimal, we prefer not to take any risk at all. In all cases the decision has been well accepted by the riders, the teams and all those associated with the event.”
Luis Otero: "The organizing committee is extremely sad about this situation, as so far we have enjoyed a fantastic competition. From the start our philosophy was to have fun and for five days everyone has had incredible fun. However due to circumstances beyond our control we have now taken the difficult, but correct decision to cancel the final day……Our main goal has been the security of the riders in the hills, but now the priority is for the authorities to provide security for all the people in the region."

KTM’s Johnny Aubert continues to be the top ISDE rider in Mexico
KTM Enduro factory rider Johnny Aubert of France again demonstrated his superiority in Morelia, Mexico when he dominated Day 5 of this annual classic, the oldest offroad event in the FIM calendar, this year celebrating its 85th edition. Aubert has now won the E2 class on all five days and was the fastest individual rider.
Organizers presented riders with new challenges as they tackled an entirely different course than the previous days as they went in to the penultimate round and the last full day of riding. The track was a mixture of trails and special tests.
For the final day, riders will have to fight it out on a nearby motocross circuit.
Aubert’s efforts helped to further solidify France’s grip on the coveted World Trophy and collectively they finished 1.5 minutes in front of Finland, who are third behind Italy in the aggregate standings. While first place seems secure in French hands there is a battle of attrition for the minor places between Italy,

Excellent first half of the 2010 ISDE for Husaberg
The 2010 ISDE in Morelia, Mexico has reached mid-way stage and Oriol Mena is leading a strong Husaberg squad especially in the E3 class.
It has been three long days of competition so far and this is about the time when riders are starting to feel the strain. After two days running the same loop the riders tackled new trails and special test on day 3, which will again be run on day 4. After another new loop for day 5 the 2010 ISDE will finish off with the final MX race on Saturday.
Though being expected to be the fastest Husaberg rider of the ISDE, in the absence of Joakim Ljunggren, Oriol Mena so far exceeded all expectations by not only leading the Spanish Junior Trophy team to a decent advantage of close to 3 minutes in the standings but also fighting for the E3 class win. He was leading the class for two days after losing some 15 seconds yesterday which dropped him back to 2nd. As his battle with Sebastien Guillaume is as close as it could be, these 15 seconds are the gap now between the two of them after day 3. Oriol's advantage over last year's overall ISDE winner Christophe Nambotin is more than 40 seconds. Speaking of overall, after starting out with an outstanding 2nd place in the overall standings on day 1 Oriol is now in 7th position overall, only slightly over a minute behind 2nd place and by far the fastest Junior rider.
