Excellent first half of the 2010 ISDE for Husaberg

The 2010 ISDE in Morelia, Mexico has reached mid-way stage and Oriol Mena is leading a strong Husaberg squad especially in the E3 class.
It has been three long days of competition so far and this is about the time when riders are starting to feel the strain. After two days running the same loop the riders tackled new trails and special test on day 3, which will again be run on day 4. After another new loop for day 5 the 2010 ISDE will finish off with the final MX race on Saturday.
Though being expected to be the fastest Husaberg rider of the ISDE, in the absence of Joakim Ljunggren, Oriol Mena so far exceeded all expectations by not only leading the Spanish Junior Trophy team to a decent advantage of close to 3 minutes in the standings but also fighting for the E3 class win. He was leading the class for two days after losing some 15 seconds yesterday which dropped him back to 2nd. As his battle with Sebastien Guillaume is as close as it could be, these 15 seconds are the gap now between the two of them after day 3. Oriol's advantage over last year's overall ISDE winner Christophe Nambotin is more than 40 seconds. Speaking of overall, after starting out with an outstanding 2nd place in the overall standings on day 1 Oriol is now in 7th position overall, only slightly over a minute behind 2nd place and by far the fastest Junior rider.

As most of the fast Husaberg riders opted to run the FE 570 model in the E3 class in the high altitude of Morelia, Husaberg is making up for almost one third of this class. Second fastest Husaberg rider in E3 is Alessandro Botturi in 7th position, who is placed 2nd in the Trophy standings with Team Italy. Right behind him is Husaberg Factory rider Valtteri Salonen who contributed some strong results to Team Finland's 3rd position in the Trophy standings so far. Placed only some 15 seconds behind him is US Factory Nathan Woods who is getting faster day by day and helped to get Team USA into 4th position in the Trophy standings.

Placed in 12th and 13th position of the E3 class are Kalle Svensson and Factory Junior rider Calle Sjöö from Sweden, who are part of a strong Swedish Junior team which is running in 2nd position and surprised everybody by winning day 2 in the Junior category. Kalle Svensson is a new member to the Swedish national Husaberg race team and is making his debut aboard the Husaberg TE 300 at the ISDE.

In the E2 class three more Junior riders are doing well for Husaberg. Placed in 22nd, 23rd and 24th position are Nick Fahringer (USA), Derrick Görner (Germany) and Kevin Benavides (Argentina) who are placed 5th, 7th and 10th in the Junior Trophy standings with their teams respectively.
In the manufacturer standings team Husaberg 1 (Mena, Salonen, Woods) is currently sitting in 4th position.
